Dan Pal UK adds natural light to St George’s School by using our Danpalon 10mm Ice panels for the canopies and Danpalon 16mm for the roof lights to give a simple yet stunning look.

Working with Curl La Tourelle Architects Dan Pal (UK) were able to transform both the internal and external spaces to create features that are both technically superior and aesthetically pleasing too.

Curl La Tourelle Architects, who are based in London, designed the beautiful internal and external spaces for the Primary School who needed an ICT and Library area to be well lit with natural light.

Using Danpalon 16mm thick panels with an ‘Ice’ finish, the architects were able to achieve their aim by allowing a diffused light into the rooms whilst obtaining more than 50% light transmission.

Whilst outside, the school’s inter-class area is now weather protected by a Danpalon canopy system using Danpalon 10mm thick panels with an ‘Ice’ finish to aesthetically match the internal application.

Joined with the polycarbonate and aluminium U connectors in Ice finish the meeting points of the panels are seemingly as one, another example of the advantages and versatility of our systems. The installation was carried out by Architectural Products of Tewkesbury.

The advantages of the system are clear as this particular system demonstrates how the Danpalon panels allow natural light into an internal space and the level of light and solar transmission can be customized by changing both the thickness and the finish of the panels.

Danpalon is Light Architecture.

Dan Pal UK is number 1 for West Park One

Using Danpalon 16mm Ice panels with our Soft light finish on both faces Dan Pal (UK) were able to add to the huge development scheme taking place in Liverpool’s city centre.

Dan Pal (UK) worked closely with Brock Carmichael Architects, Laing O’ Rourke Contactors and Colt International installers to finish work on the project and the Danpalon façade is now completed on time and to request. Covering multiple levels of the car park and on 5 major areas, the Danpalon 16mm in Ice stands over 10.5m high in continuous panels, each 1040mm wide.

The Danpalon façade can also be constructed using our thinner panels but on this particular project it was 16mm that was thought to be the best choice. West Park One Car Park sits in the centre of the bustling city as it undergoes a multi-million pound redevelopment scheme.

It was the look and feel of the Ice panels that lead to its installation and the soft light finish was used to prevent glare and shine to neighboring buildings.

The soft-light panel which is coated with an anti glare surface which is co-extruded with the panel and can be extruded on either the internal or external sides. In this case it was used on both sides to great technical effect.

Even more striking is the faceting the façade, cold forming and using the panels’ ability to self curve to the desired radius.

Danpalon is light architecture.
