Safestore, Canal Street, Glasgow
Work is now finished on the new Safestore self storage facility in Glasgow. Dan Pal (UK) supplied the polycarbonate system for this façade. Using the 16mm thick Danpalon with an ice finish it is the newest addition to Glasgow and visible from the M8 looks very attractive.
The installation on this project was particularly tidy with the finishing details perfectly installed. Young and Gault , the Glasgow based architects formed a firm partnership with Dan Pal to produce the finished project. In fact Dan Pal (UK) worked closely with all interested parties including Loach, Taylor, Shannon, London who were the concept architects for the project.
The Danpalon panels made up over 500m2 of the facade and they also used a strip of opal at one point to draw the eye and add something extra to the aesthetics. This is just one of many projects that Dan Pal (UK) has completed which demonstrates the many, diverse uses of the systems.
