Dan Pal UK brings its ingenuity and style to the London Zoo.
Using our 16mm multi-cell panels Dan Pal (UK) were able to provide excellent lighting conditions with our roof-light system.
Designed by Crispin and Borst Architects and installed by Tego Roofing, the project was a great success and Dan Pal UK completed this following the supply of materials for the Gorilla Kingdom enclosure (see separate article)
The panels were used for 80% of the roof light with a glazed system for the other 20%. The Danpalon 16mm Ice coloured panels were also coated with our Softlite finish to eliminate the glare and provide extra protection.
The beautiful creatures on display now have the natural light they need and also the protection. It is applications like this that demonstrate, once again, the versatile nature of the Danpalon. This birdhouse will house 50 varieties of bird and with the climate control system inside the self- contained rainforest, the planners needed a roofing material that was attractive, light-weight but most importantly, durable. With its unique nature and strong composition, Danpalon was the ideal choice for this particular application.
